Hyundai Motor Company has announced a recall affecting certain model year 2017 Ioniq Electric Vehicles.

What's the problem?

Manufacturing defects within the Electronic Power Control Unit (EPCU) may allow coolant to contact the unit's circuit board.

If coolant contacts the EPCU, a stall may result, increasing the risk of a crash.

Approximately 220 Ioniq Electric vehicles are impacted by this recall.

What happens next?

Hyundai will notify owners of the recalled vehicles beginning in late September 2017. Dealers will then inspect and replace the EPCU, as necessary. Repairs related to this recall will be completed free of charge to vehicle owners.
