More than 10,000 model year 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid vehicles are being recalled.

What's the problem?

The Hydraulic Clutch Actuator (HCA) inner oil seal on the affected may leak, allowing oil to accumulate in the cap area, possibly resulting in an electrical short.

An electrical short can increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

What happens next?

Hyundai will notify owners of the recalled Ioniq Hybrid vehicles beginning in mid-June 2018. Local Hyundai dealers will then inspect the HCA caps for leaked oil and replace the HCA assembly if needed, free of charge to owners.

Consumers with additional questions or concerns about this recall should contact Hyundai customer service at (855) 371-9460.

Hyundai's reference number for this recall is 176.
