Hyundai Motor America has announced a safety recall affecting approximately 17,160 model year 2017 Santa Fe Sport vehicles.

The bolt for the driver's seat belt anchor on the impacted Santa Fe vehicles may not have been sufficiently tightened during the vehicle's assembly.

If the anchor bolt is not adequately tightened, the driver's seat belt may come unanchored during a collision, increasing the risk of injury.

Hyundai will notify owners of the recalled vehicles beginning on June 30, 2017. Local Hyundai dealers will then verify that the driver's seatbelt anchor is properly secured. Any repairs related to this recall will be completed free of charge to vehicle owners.
