Idle Free Systems Recalls Auxiliary Power Unit Due to Battery Short

if the battery cable short circuits, it could cause a fire

Idle Free Systems (IFS) is recalling more than 500 IFS Auxiliary Power Units with the Reefer-type trailer Link Kit option. In the affected power units, the battery positive cable may short to ground.

If the positive battery cable short circuits, it can increase the risk of a fire.

The recall began on September 19, 2016.

IFS has notified owners, and dealers will install a supplemental auxiliary battery bank positive terminal fuse, free of charge.
