Illegal Ingredient Prompts Recall of Weight Loss Supplement Natureal
November 10, 2015

Inaffit, LLC is issuing a recall for a product after the discovery of an unapproved substance.

The company is voluntarily recalling all lots of Natureal light green and dark green capsules to the consumer level. The decision comes after Food and Drug Administration (FDA) testing revealed that the supplement contains sibutramine.

Sibutramine is an appetite suppressant that was withdrawn from the U.S. market in October 2010. Sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias or stroke.

Last month, the FDA issued a public notification urging consumers to avoid Natureal.

Natureal is intended for use as a weight loss supplement. It is packaged in a clear bottle bearing an expiration date of 03/11/2017.

Inaffit is notifying its customers by email and is arranging for return. Consumers who are currently in possession of recalled Natureal should stop using the product and discard.

The company has recently altered its manufacturing process, moving operations into an FDA Registered Facility. The new product is packaged in a clear bottle with clear capsules.
