Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is issuing a recall for school buses with a faulty electrical system.

The recall applies to certain model year 2016 Minotour DRW school buses. During relocation of the alternator, the wiring harness may have been rerouted incorrectly, resulting in the power cable being strained. As a result, the power cable may become loose at the alternator terminal.

A loose power cable to alternator terminal nut may result in an electrical arc, increasing the risk of a fire.

DTNA is including almost 30 buses in this recall.

DTNA will notify owners and repairs will be performed by authorized service facilities. The recall is expected to begin January 10, 2016.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact DTNA customer service at (800) 745-8000.
