Forest River has issued a pair of recalls for RVs due to equipment and electrical issues.

First, the company is recalling about 50 model year 2016 Wildcat RVs that include an federal placard with an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).

While the correct GAWR is 5,200 pounds, the placards may list a GAWR of 3,500 pounds. This could lead to reduced handling of the RV, resulting in loss of control or a crash. Model numbers WCF28SGX, WCF29RKP, WCF29RLX, and WCF31SAX are included in the recall.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will provide a corrected placard, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 28, 2016.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact the manufacturer at (574) 862-2071.

Next, the company is recalling about 10 model year 2016 Surveyor RVs, model SVF275BHSS. In the affected vehicles, the general circuit receptacle may be incorrectly wired, and as a result, too much current may be conducted.

Too much electrical current can cause an electrical arc, and potentially electrocute the user.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will repair any wiring, breakers, and other items, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 29, 2016.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact Forest River at (574) 642-3119 extension 205.
