Forest River has issued a recall of 11 model year 2017 Spartan Toy Haulers, model STF3712X, due to incorrect information printed on the Federal Placard Label.

The label incorrectly states that the vehicle has a third axle with two extra tires; however, the vehicle is only equipped with two axles and four tires. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

If the owner follows the information on the Federal Placard Label, the operator may overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The company will notify owners, and dealers will install corrected Federal Placards free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin August 18, 2016.

For more information, owners can reach Forest River Customer Service at (574) 862-3033.
