Incorrectly Assembled Steering Gears Prompts Ford Focus and C-Max Recall
Ford is recalling certain model year 2014 Focus and C-Max vehicles because they may have steering gears that were incorrectly assembled.
The problem could cause impaired steering, including the loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Only about 500 vehicles that were manufactured between Aug. 8 and Aug. 15 are expected to be affected by the problem.
Ford will notify owners of the problem and dealers will replace the steering gears free of charge. Owners with questions or concerns can contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S18.
