Discount Tire is issuing a recall for several lines of its product due to mislabeled specifications.

The Scottsdale, AZ tire manufacturer is recalling certain Pathfinder light truck tires after the discovery that they have been manufactured with an inner liner gauge that is lower than specified. As a result, the tire tread may separate and cause rapid air pressure loss, increasing the risk of a crash.

Discount Tire believes that over 79,000 tires are subject to the recall. The four specific models of tire that are subject to recall are: the Pathfinder SAT LT245/75R17E1 121R W, the Pathfinder SAT LT265/75R16E1 123Q W, the Pathfinder SAT LT265/70R17E1 121S B, and the Pathfinder SAT LT275/65R18E1 123S B.

Discount Tire will notify owners, and dealers will provide replacement tires, free of charge. Alternatively, dealers can refund the purchase price. The recall is expected to begin in August 2015. Customers with questions can contact the company at (888) 519-6914.
