A faulty fire extinguisher may make certain Isuzu trucks unsafe for operation.

Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. is recalling certain 2012-2016 NPR, NPR-HD, NPR-XD, NQR, and NRR diesel trucks and 2012-2015 NPR and NPR-HD gasoline-powered trucks. These trucks are equipped with certain Kidde plastic valve disposable handheld fire extinguishers, model FC10, which may not properly discharge when the lever is pressed.

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not work correctly, there is an increased risk of injury.

The manufacturer believes that more than 25,000 trucks may be at risk.

Isuzu will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected fire extinguishers, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
