Kia Recall Impacts 106,000 Sedona Minivans with Power Sliding Door Defect

The power sliding door may not auto-reverse if it is closing and something or someone gets in the way

Kia Motors America has issued a recall affecting around 106,000 model year 2015-2018 Kia Sedona minivans that are equipped with a power sliding door.

What's the problem?

The power sliding door on these vehicles may not auto-reverse if it is closing and something or someone gets in the way. This poses a risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

What happens next?

Owners of the affected Sedona minivans will be notified by Kia beginning in mid-June 2018. Kia dealers will then reprogram the power sliding door module software free of charge to owners.
