King Arthur Recalls Organic Coconut Flour That May Be Contaminated with Salmonella
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems
King Arthur Flour Company has issued a recall affecting 6,300 cases of its Organic Coconut Flour (16 oz.). This flour may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The recalled flour was distributed and sold nationwide.
Recalled Product Details
The King Arthur Organic Coconut Flour impacted by this recall will have a UPC code of 0 71012 10702 5 and a 'Best If Used By' date of 10/25/2018 LOT: CF22017E or 12/04/2018, LOT: CF22017E, which can be found on the back of the package.
No other date codes or lot numbers are affected.
What should consumers do?
Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled flour should discard it or return the product to the place of purchase for a refund or store credit.
To date, there have been no reported illnesses related to this recall. King Arthur says that it has commenced an internal investigation to determine the source of the problem.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail, or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in more severe illnesses.
