Potentially compromised visibility is prompting a trailer recall from Kompact Kamp.

The manufacturer is voluntarily recalling certain 1983-2016 Li'l Clipper and other motorcycle trailers that were manufactured without side marker lights. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."

Without side marker lights, vehicle visibility can be decreased to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The company has not yet determined the quantity of trailers affected by this recall.

Kompact Kamp will provide and install sidemarker lights on all trailers on which they were not included. The recall is scheduled to begin on May 28, 2016.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact Kompact Kamp customer service at (717) 933-8070.
