Fromm Family Foods is issuing a recall for a product with dubious nutritional value.

The pet food manufacturer is voluntarily recalling all lots of Gold Chicken Pate, Gold Chicken & Duck, and Gold Salmon & Chicken Pate. Through internal analysis, the company has determined that the canned dog food products do not contain the recommended levels of vitamins and minerals. Additionally, they may contain elevated levels of Vitamin D.

All products are sold in 12 ounce containers. Chicken Pate bears case code 11893 and UPC 72705 11892, Chicken & Duck bears case code 11895 and UPC 72705 11894, and Chicken & Salmon Pate bears case code 11891 and UPC 72705 11890.

No health problems have been reported in connection with this product. However, the manufacturer believes that dogs who use this product as their sole source of nutrition may developed a depressed appetite.

The affected products were shipped by Fromm to distributor warehouses from December 2015 through February 2016.

Retailers should return the products to distributors for return to Fromm Family Foods.

Consumers with questions about this recall can contact Fromm Family Foods at (262) 242-2200.
