Lack of Proper Restraints Triggers Recall for Ford Fusion Vehicles
About 40 vehicles are potentially impacted by this issue
Ford has issued a recall for vehicles due to improper manufacturing.
The company has announced that it is recalling certain model year 2016 Ford Fusion vehicles. The front driver seat track assembly's rear riser may have been improperly welded to the seat track rail, meaning that the driver may not be adequately restrained in a crash. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Without the proper restraints in place, the risk of injury to the driver is increased in the event of a crash.
About 40 vehicles are potentially affected by this issue.
Ford quarantined the affected vehicles at dealerships prior to their sale. Dealers will replace the front driver seat track rail, free of charge. The recall began on April 26, 2016.
