Late Model Mazda6s Recalled for Defective Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Mazda is recalling about 99,700 model year 2014-2015 Mazda6 vehicles for a defective Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
If the pressure of all four of the tires gradually drop at the same time, the TPMS may not warn the driver. Driving with under inflated tires increases the risk of a blowout.
The cars also fail to comply with federal TPMS standards.
Mazda will notify owners affected by the recall, and dealers will update the TPMS software, free of charge. For more information, owners can contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500.
