Nissan North America has announced the recall of certain model year 2016 Nissan Rogue vehicles.

What's the problem?

The impacted vehicles have front passenger seat frames that may have been improperly welded during manufacturing. As such, these vehicles fail to meet performance requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 202a, "Head Restraints" and FMVSS 207, "Seating Systems."

In the event of a crash, the improperly welded seat back frames could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

Approximately 210 Nissan Rogue vehicles are affected by this recall. The owners of these vehicles will be notified by Nissan beginning in early January 2018.

What's the fix?

Nissan dealers will replace the front passenger seat back assembly free of charge.
