Country Home Products is recalling approximately 3,900 leaf and law vacuums due to the risk of fire and burns.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the muffler on the vacuums may overheat and melt the cover of the air cleaner.

The affected products include the Premier, Pro, and Pro-XL models of the tow-behind DR leaf and lawn vacuums. The units have a serial number between LLV34601 and LLV39980. The vacuums are towed behind a riding lawnmower in order to collect leaves. They are tan and black and have a set of two wheels on each side. The DR logo Professional Power Done Right as well as leaf and lawn vacuum are printed on the vacuum's side, while the serial number is printed on the tow bar's left side close to the engine.

The vacuums were sold in the Country Home Products catalog, on its website, and at authorized dealers across the country, including Tractor Supply Company, from August 2014 until September 2015 for between $1,300 and $2,200.

The company has, to date, received 20 reports of the products becoming hot to the touch, melting, or catching fire, although there have been no injuries reported.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the affected vacuums and contact Country Home Products in order to receive a free repair kit containing a replacement muffler as well as instructions for finishing the repair. Anyone who is not able to install the kit should contact the company for information about authorized dealers who can install the free repair. The company is contacting all consumers who purchased the vacuums directly.

For more information, consumers can contact the company at (877) 220-0691.
