Hearth & Home Technologies is recalling about 20,000 gas fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets.

The gas valves in the units can leak, posing a fire hazard.

Owners should immediately stop using the gas fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets, and turn off the gas to the units. Consumers should contact the fireplace store where it was purchased to arrange for a free inspection and, if necessary, valve replacement. The company's dealers are contacting known purchasers.

The affected products include Hearth & Home Technologies, Heat-N-Glo, Heatilator, Outdoor Lifestyles and Quadra Fire brand natural or propane gas indoor and outdoor fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets. The following brand names and serial numbers are printed on the unit rating plate, located near the controls, and in the instruction manual.

Products were sold at fireplace stores from May 2014 through July 2014 for between $1,200 and $8,000.

A full list of recalled products can be found on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
