LED Light Overheating, Fire Risk Prompts Heartland, Cruiser Recall of Trailers

Heartland Recreational Vehicles recalling more than 4,500 model year 2016-2017 Wilderness and Mallard travel trailers, and 2015-2017 Elkridge fifth wheel travel trailers.

In addition, Cruiser RV is recalling almost 650 2017 Sundance and Torque travel trailers, and 2017 Shadow Cruiser, Fun Finder, MPG, Radiance, South Fork, and Stryker recreational trailers.

The affected vehicles have an LED light on the front cap of the camper that may short circuit and overheat.

If the light overheats there would be an increased risk of a fire.

Both recalls are expected to begin on September 26, 2016.

Heartland and Cruiser will notify their afeected customers, and dealers will replace the light with one that has built-in voltage protection.
