Lincoln MKT and Town Cars Recalled Due to Loose Brake Rotor Bolts
Ford Motor Company is recalling 2013 Lincoln MKT and Town Cars manufactured between March 6, 2012 and April 3, 2012 that are equipped with the limousine or hearse preparation package. Affected vehicles may have been transported with rear brake rotor bolts that are not fully seated, allowing the head to protrude above the wheel mounting surface.
The raised bolt head could lead to torque loss in the wheel joint, potentially leading to wheel separation, increasing the risk of a crash.
All affected vehicles are currently quarantined at the coach builder's facilities. Notices have been mailed to all coach builders with the vehicles in question, and will be fully repaired before any vehicles are delivered to owners.
