A recreational vehicle parts manufacturer is issuing a recall due to a safety hazard.

Lippert Components, Inc. is recalling certain Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps. The bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture, allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable, increasing the risk of injury for the user.

Lippert believes that more than 47,000 sets of steps require attention.

The remedy for this recall campaign is still being finalized. The recall is expected to begin in October 2015.

Owners with questions about the recall can contact Lippert customer service at (574) 537-8900.
