Forest River has announced a recall for motorhomes with faulty electrical systems.

The RV manufacturer is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Dynamax Rev and Coachman Orion vehicles. These vehicles, built on RAM ProMaster chassis, have an ignition switch that may have an intermittent loss of electrical contact.

An intermittent loss of contact can result in a vehicle stall or a partial or complete loss of air bags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and instrument panel cluster. Loss of functionality with any of these safety systems can increase the risk of crash.

About 175 recreation vehicles are potentially defective.

Forest River will notify owners, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) dealers will replace the ignition switch contact holder block, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on April 29, 2016.

Owners with questions about this recall can call the FCA Recall Assistance Center at (800) 853-1403 and contact Forest River customer service at (574) 262-3474.
