A pair of emergency vehicle manufacturers are issuing recalls due to safety concerns.

First, E-One Incorporated is recalling nine model year 2013-2014 Typhoon, Cyclone II, and Quest emergency vehicles. The affected vehicles have front independent suspension assemblies that may have loose ball joints which could separate. This could result in a loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

E-One will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the suspension assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin October 20, 2015.

Next, Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. is recalling eight model year 2013-2014 Igniter and Inferno firetrucks. The affected vehicles are experiencing the same problems as E-One's, with loose ball joints potentially leading to a loss of steering control.

Ferrara will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the firetrucks and replace the affected suspension components, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in October 2015.

Owners with questions about the recall can contact E-One customer service at (800) 627-5050 and Ferrara customer service at (225) 567-7100 ext. 3011.
