Lumicentro Internacional, Home Depot Recall Chandeliers Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

Lumicentro Internacional and Home Depot are recalling 10,500 crystal chandeliers because they pose fire and burn hazards.

The fixtures' halogen bulbs may melt part of the chandeliers.

RECALLED PRODUCT DETAILS

The affected fixtures include Hampton Bay 3-Light Crystal Chandeliers and Home Decorators Collection 4-Light Crystal Chandeliers. The model number of the 3-Light fixture is 03179-4, while the model number of the 4-Light fixtures is 19161-4. These numbers are displayed on top of the fixtures. Finally, the chandeliers include dangling crystals, weigh roughly 16 pounds, and have three or four 50-watt halogen bulbs.

WHERE WERE THE PRODUCTS SOLD?

The 3-Light chandeliers were sold at Home Depot stores in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands from September 2013 until February 2017. The 4-Light fixtures were sold at Home Depot locations across the U.S. from October 2015 until February 2017. Both were sold for $220.

WHAT SHOULD CONSUMERS DO?

To date, there have been 39 reports of the 4-Light fixtures' plastic burning and melting, wires burned, or overheating and one report of the chandelier catching fire. There have been no property damage or injuries reported.
