Mislabeled Cranberry Candies Recalled by Cape Cod Provisions

Cape Cod Provisions LCC is issuing a recall for candy that contains an undeclared ingredient.

The candy company is voluntarily recalling Cape Cod Cranberry Candy and Harvest Sweets Milk Chocolate/Dark Chocolate/Yogurt Covered Cranberry Blend. Yogurt covered almonds were mistakenly added to the mixture, despite the nut's absence from the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recalled product can be identified by UPC codes. The Cranberry Candy bags bear UPC 6 12681 10259 3, while 6 12681 44259 0 appears on the Harvest Sweets packaging. The items are distributed in five ounce boxes with lot number 5230-1 on the inside bag.

Cape Cod Provisions distributed the product nationwide through retail stores and mail order.

No illnesses have been reported to date.
