A pudding manufacturer is recalling a lot of its product due to the presence of an undeclared allergen.

Kozy Shack Enterprises announced that it would voluntarily recall one lot of Indulgent Recipe Pudding in a Salted Caramel cardboard sleeve because it may contain Vanilla Bean Pudding cups, which contain egg.

This manufacturing error is problematic because the Salted Caramel sleeve does not list egg, a known allergen, in the ingredient statement. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The product is sold as four individual cups. The affected items have a use-by date of 11/30/2015 and a UPC of 73491.09240 printed on the cardboard sleeve. Lot number 31908940 is visible on the individual cups.

The pudding cups were distributed to retail locations in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Idaho, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Nevada, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.

No illnesses have been reported in association with the product.

Consumers who have purchased this product can return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Kozy Shack will work with stores to retrieve the product.

Customers with questions about the recall can contact Kozy Shack customer service at (877) 585-2365.
