Mislabeled Purple Cow Ice Cream Recalled by House of Flavors

A variety of Ice ceam from House of Flavors is now subject to a recall due to misbranding.

The ice cream shop is voluntarily recalling Purple Cow Limited Edition Cookie Butter Ice Cream sold at Meijer stores. The packages actually contain Purple Cow Butter Pecan Ice Cream. Consumers who may have a severe allergy or sensitivity to nuts run the risk of potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The affected product is packaged in an eight ounce cup with UPC Code 13733 61945 and a best-by date of 11/21/2016.

The product was sold at exclusively at Meijer stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

For consumers who are not allergic to nuts, there is no safety issue with this product.

Consumers who have the recalled products should return them to the store from which they were purchased for a full refund.
