Prevost Cars has announced a recall for motorhomes due to a potentially dangerous engine defect.

The manufacturer is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 H3-41, H3-45, H3-VIP and X3-45 Coach vehicles, 2012-2016 X3-VIP vehicles and 2011-2013 XL2 Entertainer vehicles.

The coolant line on the affected vehicles may be missing a positioning clip, allowing the coolant line to rub against the braided fuel hose at one of the injectors.

Contact between the fuel line and the coolant line may cause a fuel leak and result in fuel spraying onto hot exhaust components. This condition increases the risk of an engine compartment fire.

Prevost is including about 1,350 vehicles in this recall.

The company will notify owners, and local dealers will inspect the fuel line for abrasion, replacing it as necessary. The fuel and coolant lines will be properly secured. All repairs related to this recall will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on April 20, 2016.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact Prevost customer service at (418) 883-3391.
