Missing Circuit Breaker Triggers Travel Trailer Recall from Jayco
About 320 trailers were built without the required circuit breaker
May 6, 2016
An RV manufacturer has announced a recall for travel trailers due to an electrical issue.
Jayco is recalling certain model year 2016 Octane Super Lite travel trailers. These trailers may have been built without a 30 amp circuit breaker which, in the event of an electrical short, would present a safety hazard.
An electrical short on an unprotected circuit increases the risk of a fire.
The manufacturer believes that about 320 of its trailers are affected by this issue.
Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will install a 30 amp circuit breaker, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in May 2016.
Owners with questions about this recall can contact Jayco customer service at (800) 283-8267.
