Jody's Gourmet Popcorn is issuing a recall for product that may be contaminated.

The Virginia Beach, VA company is recalling its Fabulous Fudge Chocolate Walnut after several consumer reports of the product containing mold. The items were sold as part of a school fundraiser.

The products were sold in eight ounce, plastic packaging. An expiration date of 12/22/2015 is visible on the product. Though the item is expired, mold should not yet be growing, which prompted the recall from Jody's.

About 215 packages of fudge were produced and distributed.

Six schools in Virginia and one in North Carolina purchased the product for its fundraising efforts.

The FDA considers this action to be a Class II recall, meaning that exposure to this product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. The risk of serious health issues is small.
