The MVP Group is issuing a recall for candles that can cut consumers.

The manufacturer is voluntarily recalling Glass Jar Candles with Lids due to reports that the glass lid can break when the jar is being opened. This poses a laceration hazard to the user. The MVP Group is including about 720,000 candles in this announcement.

The glass jar candles weigh about 18 ounces and bear the brand names Living Color Candles, Everyday Reflections, True Living, and Everyday Home. For a list of the various scents and colors, see the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) release.

Consumers could purchase these candles at Big Lots, Dollar General and Family Dollar stores between February 2015 and November 2015 for about $5.

There have been 16 reported incidents resulting in laceration injuries, some requiring medical attention, including one requiring stitches.

Consumers should immediately stop using the candles and call MVP to arrange for a full refund. If jars are unopened, consumers should not attempt to open them.

Customers with questions about the recall can contact MVP Group by phone at (877) 240-1707 or by email at candlelid@mvpgroupint.com.
