Navistar Recalls Trucks with Potentially Defective Cummins Engines

December 11, 2015

A truck manufacturer is issuing a recall for vehicles due to potential oil leaks.

Navistar, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain model year 2014-2015 International TranStar vehicles equipped with certain Cummins Westport ISL G engines. These engines have a turbocharger oil supply line that may contact or interfere with the turbocharger inlet elbow, clean air intake clamp, or the air fuel control tube, and result in an oil leak.

If the turbocharger oil supply line oil leaks in the proximity of the engine exhaust manifold there would be an increased risk of a fire.

Sixty trucks are potentially affected by this defect.

Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for oil supply line interference or damage, eliminating the interference and replacing the oil supply line, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in December 2015.

Customers with questions about this recall can contact Navistar customer service at (331) 332-1590 and Cummins customer service at (800) 343-7357.
