New Netflix App Helps Apple Device Users Avoid Mobile Data Overages
If you're an Apple user that loves to watch videos and movies on your iPhone, iPad or iPod, then listen up! A new App from Netflix aims to help you avoid those surprise data overage charges.
As many people may have found out the hard way know, unless you have an unlimited monthly data plan, watching movies, videos, and TV shows on your smartphone, tablet, or other wireless device can very quickly burn through your allotted data limit. Once you go over your limit, you could be left with an outrageously high bill at the end of the month.
To help address this issue, Netflix is updating its iOS app so that consumers watching movies and videos can limit their streaming time. Users will be able to choose a setting that will only allow streaming when they are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
The new Netflix app will be compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch over 4G and LTE networks.
The updated player is also said to be more user friendly with a look a feel more in line with other Netflix mobile applications, including larger, more separated play controls and easy-to-see thumbnail images on the scrub bar.
Netflix says it has plans to issue a similar update to its app for Android devices.
