Nissan is recalling about 200 new sport utility vehicles due to a transmission defect.

In certain model year 2015 Nissan Armada SUVs, interference between the parking rod and the transmission housing may not allow the parking pawl to fully engage.

This could cause the vehicle to move while the shifter is still in park, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners affected by the recall, but has not yet provided a notification schedule. Dealers will inspect the casting date stamp on the transmission housing and replace the affected transmissions, free of charge.

For more information, owners can contact Nissan customer service at 1- 800-647-7261.
