Nissan GT-R Vehicles in Puerto Rico Recalled Due to Missing Labels

Nissan coupes sent to Puerto Rico may be include misleading information for owners.

The automaker is issuing a recall for certain model year 2015-2016 GT-R sold in the Caribbean commonwealth. The affected vehicles have a Certification Label that is missing the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

Due to the label missing the GVWR/GAWR information, the operator may overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan believes that 18 vehicles are missing the requisite labels.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will apply a corrected label, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
