Olympus Digital Cameras Recalled for Electric Shock Risk

About 1,200 point-and-shoot digital cameras are being recalled due a safety defect caused a manufacturing error.

An improperly installed part in certain Olympus cameras can touch the circuit board and cause the user to get shocked. No injuries, however, have been reported.

The recall involves the Olympus VG-170 Digital Point-and-Shoot cameras sold exclusively at HHGregg Appliance Inc. stores and online from September 2013 to December 2014for about $120.

Camera owners should immediately stop using it and contact Olympus for a free inspection and repair.
