Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has announced a recall for a medication due to a manufacturing error.

The company's announcement applies to its Paricalcitol capsules. Consumer reports indicate that the capsules are prone to breaking and leaking. The medication is used to treat patients suffering from hyperparathyroidism.

The recalled product is sold in bottles containing 30 capsules, in one, two, and four microgram strength. The following National Drug Codes (NDC) can be found on the bottles: 55111-665-30, 55111-664-30, and 55111-663-30.

Dr. Reddy's is including about 25,000 bottles in its recall.

The company distributed the recalled product to locations nationwide.

The FDA considers this action to be a Class III recall, meaning that exposure to this product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences.
