Running Trainer is issuing a recall for approximately 240 Gen 2 Bionic Runner Bicycles, plus an additional five sold in Canada, because the pedals may come off and pose a fall hazard to the rider.

The affected bicycles are black with red pedals and red trim around the wheels. They mimic the motion of running and have a folding frame. The words BIONIC RUNNER are printed in white lettering on the side of the stirrups.

The bicycles were sold online at Running Trainer's website, Run4, from May 2016 until September 2016 for approximately $900.

To date, the company has received one report of a pedal coming off a bicycle, resulting in the rider falling off and scraping knees and a finger.

Consumers are encouraged to immediately stop using the bicycles and contact the company for free replacement pedals. Running Trainer has directly contacted all registered owners.

For more information, consumers can contact the company at (800) 603-4631.
