Pier 1 Imports Recalls Glass Knobs Due to Laceration Hazard
The company has received seven reports of injuries resulting from the knobs breaking during installation or while in use
Pier 1 Imports has issued a recall of Basic, Kira, and Facets glass knobs commonly used with dressers, cabinets, and small drawers. The glass knobs can break while in use, posing a risk of laceration to users from broken glass pieces.
The glass knobs have a metal stem affixed to one side and were sold in seven colors: clear, teal, pink, green, aquamarine, champagne, and silver. No other decorative knobs are included in this recall.
Approximately 140,000 knobs, in addition to about 17,600 units sold in Canada, were sold in the U.S. at Pier 1 Imports stores and online from September 2011 through October 2016 for between $6 and $7.
To date, the company has received seven reports of injuries as a result of the glass knobs breaking during installation or while in use.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled glass knobs and return them to any Pier 1 Imports store for a full refund or merchandise credit.
