Polaris Industries is recalling approximately 6,860 model year 2016-2017 Slingshot motorcycles. The brake pressure switch on the affected motorcycles may have been over tightened.

Over tightening of the brake pressure switch may damage the seal, allowing brake fluid to leak, resulting in reduced brake performance, and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Slingshot motorcycles included in this recall were manufactured between December 28, 2015 and April 27, 2016.

Polaris will notify owners, and dealers will install new brake pressure switch seals on the recalled motorcycles, free of charge.

This recall is expected to begin sometime in November 2016. Owners with additional questions can contact Polaris customer service at (855) 863-2284.

Polaris' reference number for this recall is T-16-02.
