Polaris is recalling about 1,900 new motorcycles for a defect that could affect steering control.

In certain 2015 Slingshot and Slingshot SL motorcycles, the upper pinion bearing on the steering rack assembly may fail, resulting in the pinion gear disengaging from the steering rack.

If this happens, it could cause the rider to lose steering control.

Polaris will notify affected owners and dealers will replace the steering rack assembly, free of charge.

Owners may contact Polaris customer service at (855) 863-2284.
