Porsche is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Porsche 911 Boxster and Cayman vehicles for a hood-lock defect.

In the 1,400 affected cars, the front hood lock was not manufactured to specification and could fail to securely latch the vehicle's hood. This could cause the hood to pop open while the car is being driven, blocking the driver's view.

Porsche will notify owners affected by the recall, but has not yet provided a notification schedule. Dealers will replace the lock on the front hood, free of charge.

For more information, owners can contact Porsche customer service at 1-770-290-3627. Porsche's number for this recall is AE04.
