Porsche Recalls 911 GT3 Vehicles at Risk of Fire
Porsche Cars North America is recalling certain model year 2014 911 GT3 vehicles manufactured from October 19, 2013 through January 16, 2014.
In the affected 911 GT3 vehicles, a piston connecting rod may come loose and damage the engine crankcase. A damaged crankcase may allow engine oil to leak onto hot components in the engine bay, which may result in a fire.
Porsche will notify all owners of the recalled 911 GT3 vehicles, and Porsche dealers will install a new engine with improved piston connecting rod connections. This service will be provided free of charge.
