An issue impacting the electrical system is prompting a recall from Bluecar SAS.

The manufacturer is recalling certain model year 2016 Bluecar vehicles because in certain driving conditions the powertrain software may shut down power to the car. These conditions include high acceleration with immediate release of the accelerator, or harsh braking action.

If the vehicle loses power, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Bluecar is including about 200 vehicles in this recall. The vehicles are used in a public car sharing program called BlueIndy, based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bluecar notified the owner of the fleet of vehicles, and all affected vehicles have received corrected powertrain software, free of charge. The recall was completed on December 23, 2015.

Customers with questions can contact BlueIndy at (800) 329-2058.
