A major truck manufacturer is recalling certain models from one line of trucks that may have compromised braking capabilities.

Mack Trucks, Inc. is issuing the recall for certain model year 2013-2015 Pinnacle (CXU) trucks that are equipped with Meritor air disk brakes.

In the affected vehicles, the brake chambers may have been incorrectly mounted resulting in internal contamination of the air brake calipers.

Contamination of the calipers may cause a loss of brakes on one wheel, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Mack believes that only 79 trucks are at risk of being impacted by this issue.

Mack will notify truck owners of the remedy plan, though it has not yet been developed. The recall is expected to begin on Sept. 21, 2015.

Customers can contact Mack customer service at (800) 866-1177 for further information on the recall.
