If you're looking for a fix of classic Creole cuisine, there's a certain Zatarain's product you may need to avoid.

The New Orleans distributor is issuing a recall for certain boxes of Red Beans and Rice Original due to a potential manufacturing error. The product may mistakenly contain Creamy Parmesan Rice Mix, which includes dairy allergens. Dairy allergens are not labeled on the Red Beans and Rice Original package. People with a dairy allergy or sensitivity run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recall applies only to eight ounce boxes that bear the best-by date of 07/31/2016 and UPC 7142909849. The potentially tainted product was shipped to retail locations in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

About 1,600 boxes of the product are included in the recall.

All retail outlets that sell these products are being notified to remove the product with affected date code from their shelves and warehouses immediately.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date and no other Zatarain's products are involved in this recall.

Consumers do not need to return the item to the store where it was purchased. Instead, consumers are urged to dispose of the product. For a full refund or replacement, customers can contact Zatarain's.
