Perdue Foods has recalled 2,148 pounds of chicken sausage products that may contain plastic.

The affected products, which were produced on March 27, 2017, include 24-ounce plastic packages containing eight links of fully-cooked ready-to-eat PERDUE HARVESTLAND Italian Style Organic Chicken Sausage.

These items have package code 64405, a sell- or freeze-by date of 6/25/17, and establishment number P-2617 inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture inspection mark. They were shipped to a retail distributor in Connecticut and Maryland.

Although there have not been any confirmed reports of injury in connection with consumption of these products, consumers are urged to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase instead of consuming them.
