Presence of Almonds Leads to Recall of Nectar Foods CocoNoNut

CocoNoNut, a bar marketed as featuring coconut meat as a substitute for almonds, is being recalled due to the presence of almonds.

Nectar Foods' Cacao-Nectar Bar is recalling 300 bars after the discovery that the nut may have been inadvertently added to the product.

The product was distributed in retail stores in California, Oregon, and Washington, and sold for $5.99. The packaging bears the UPC code 854835004067 with an expiration of Dec. 18, 2015.

No illnesses due to undeclared almonds has been reported.

The recall was initiated after a customer report on July 9.
